FF14 Tokyo Fan Festival Sets Up a Late-2026 Expansion
Square Enix used the Tokyo Fan Festival to lock in a late-2026 expansion launch window — early enough that the cadence is now legibly different.
The Tokyo stop closed April 20 with a keynote that ran 30 minutes long. Two pieces of news matter: the current expansion gets one more major patch before Q2 ends, and the next mainline expansion’s full reveal is locked for the European Fan Festival in late June, with a confirmed late-2026 release.
On content, the keynote dropped a residential district expansion, a new playable race, and a Crystalline Conflict overhaul shipping with the prepatch. The PvP rework is the most-requested change in the most recent producer letter survey.
The Chaotic Alliance Raid landing in late May was the biggest organic cheer of the weekend. A free graphical update pass for older zones rolls out alongside the expansion launch.
Concrete launch window this early in the FFF cycle is unusually confident. The London stop is now the biggest PC MMO date on the 2026 calendar.
