Pragmata Hits Orbit April 16: Capcom’s Strangest Big-Budget Bet

By FragBytes Desk · April 25, 2026

After half a decade of delay, Capcom’s lunar-research thriller Pragmata finally ships this week — and the loop is genuinely unlike anything else on the 2026 calendar.

Five years after the original tease, Pragmata arrives April 16 across PC, PS5 and Xbox Series. The premise is part survival shooter, part real-time hacking puzzler — you aim with the right stick while a small AI companion solves a node-drag puzzle layered over each target.

On PC, the game showcases Capcom’s RE Engine: DLSS 4 and FSR 3.1 from launch, ray-traced reflections through the lunar glass interiors, and remappable hacking inputs that feel sharper on mouse than controller. The PC build is the version most worth watching for early-week impressions.

Capcom hasn’t pushed a brand-new IP at this scale since Dragon’s Dogma in 2012. If the dual-input loop catches a critical mass of players, it becomes a sleeper. If it bounces, it’s still the most ambitious original Capcom action game in over a decade.

The Bytes Take

Pragmata is the rare big-budget release that doesn’t fit any existing genre lane. The combat-and-hack hybrid is genuinely new — the first hour either clicks or it doesn’t.
